![]() ![]() It's a good place to just chill and have a leisurely meal of delicious little fishies. We adore it! The restaurant itself is comfortable with a nice, top-40ish music mix that leans a little more adult alternative than dance music and we have always had excellent service. The dish is a generous serving of thin shaved and fluffy krab mixed with Japanese mayo (which is richer and more eggy than US mayos) and just enough tobiko for a great textural element (tiny, smokey, salty crunchies). If your "crab" roll isn't costing $10 or more per order and if it the "crab" is the same size in every slice (how often have you seen a snow crab leg that is the same size from end to end?), then it's delicious, lovely krab with k, folks! Whatever brand Origami uses is awesome and one of our favorite small plate orders is the Krab Special Salad. Also, with the exception of soft shell crab rolls, it is what is in every "crab" roll at nearly every sushi bar. Yes, it's fish paste but when well done, it is also sweet and delicious. Surimi is a fine Japanese tradition of flavored and formed mild white fish that features in everything from krab stick to those delicious little white and pink slices found in real ramen bowls. Say what you will, but it is far more than just "fake crab". And now I feel compelled to say a few words about krab with a k. The quality and flavor of the rolls is always excellent. As for rolls, we prefer ours not too fancy so we often order the Bagel, the Mexican, the Tampa and a Spicy Tuna. The Krab Rangoon, Gyoza and Tuna Tataki are all excellent. We usually get some rolls and a few small plates to share. We are big fans of their happy hour pricing, which runs from 4-7pm and includes a number of standard rolls such as California, Mexican, and Tampa and a few specialty rolls.
