![]() ![]() That clarifies it, I just wish they did it differently, because although Valve doesn't do it, that doesn't mean they can't come up with their own solution and locally save things for offline play at least (surely there would be a workaround for online play too. (Nonetheless I appreciate that they offer it at least) Well I don't care about playing online, I just want to play locally with friends, and it doesn't make sense that they have local co-op when progression isn't saved, yes it is 'convenient' but it mostly voids the purpose IMO. As I said before, this has to do with steam not handling guest accounts as the PS4 and XBone does this has been suggested many times before but so far, Valve has not done anything. Magicka and Duck Game) your client can make separate accounts for each of your guests locally, but soon as you jump into online (This happens in duck game), the guest account is ditched and made a copy of the main. The reason why clones can't keep their own progression is because guest accounts were made dispossable (there's even a sort of "bug" where a guest playing on keyboard will have a two or three digit number), and their progression is linked to yours for the sake of convenience. What's the point of playing locally when you can't save progress, especially with how much content and leveling up there is? As it has been in the past that any progress my friend(s) make, they lose as soon as we quit the game session, which is no fun.Īll I want is their progress to be locally saved (as in, account copy #X has persistent progress seperate from main account but only can play locally in addition to my own account), which shouldn't be any difficulty to do as pretty much all other local co-op (same screen/splitscreen whatever) do this. I realize it has never been splitscreen, I just use that term to clarify that I mean local co-op as in from the same computer since some people think local co-op refers to LAN. If by any chance, what you want is to transfer your progress from PSN to Steam, I'm affraid that's not possible.
